The hospital is located in the large and industrial town of Middelburg in Mpumalanga.  Middelburg lies in the cultural heartland region of the province and close to the Buffalo Gorge, the Avontuur Valley and several dams which attracts many visitors that enjoy the outdoors.

The town of Middelburg is about 140km from Pretoria and 32km from Witbank.  Nearby main roads are the N11 to the West of the hospital and the R555 to the East of the hospital.  A 24-hour accident and emergency unit is equipped to deal with medical emergencies around the clock.

Beds and Wards

The hospital has 221 beds and 6 theatres, which includes a laminar flow theatre that specialises in hip and knee replacements.  A 16-bed maternity unit is well-equipped and secured to provide mothers and babies with the best medical care and security.

Babies in need of high care and support are cared for at the 12 bed neonatal intensive care unit which is equipped with sophisticated monitoring and life support equipment.  Children receive specialised care at the 18 bed pediatric ward.

Critical ill and injured patients receive professional high care and support at the 14 bed Medical ICU and 10 bed Surgical ICU.  The advanced renal dialysis unit is equipped with 9 beds and highly skilled medical staff and professionals.
