The hospital is situated in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal.  The town of Empangeni is about 150km North of Durban and 16km from Richards Bay.  Empangeni is situated in the hilly countryside and easily accessible via the N2.

The hospital has 174 beds and 5 theatres.  The theatres are fully equipped and sophisticated orthopaedic surgeries such as knee and hip replacements are performed in the laminar flow theatre.

A 13 bed intensive care and high care unit provides high-level care to critical ill and injured patients.  The 5 bed neonatal ICU offers highly specialised care to babies.  Specialised services are provided at the radiology unit including x-rays, CT scanner and mammography.
