Once again Sunninghill hospital does not care about making sure that authorisation from your insurance is attained which then will leave you battling between the insurance company and them to get things resloved, and thier accounts department is a total mess, it took 15 calls and 8 emails to reslove an issue of R450 you can never reach a case manager no matter how often you call, you are far better going to Fourways life Hospital.

Hi am from Zambia would like to come and give birth st your hospital
I`am Thando Tembo I was treated at Sunninghill hospital three days after being born I was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease Pulmonary Atrasia I spent two straight months in your hospital in your well known cardiology ward ,my case was serious which made me take life seriously and I`am currently working on a book. Iam also preparing for what will be my fourth visit it a hospital which I hold is very ,very ,very, very ,very high regard. Iremeber at the age of nine or ten crying when I saw my name on the Walter Sisulu Tree of life .I was honored to be part of the numerous brave boys and girls to be give such an honour. Many thanks to Dr Harrisberg ,Dr Kenny Govendraloo and the entire Cardilogy department at Sunninghill Hospital .
Please note that in August 2019 my husband was admitted at Sunninghill. All the talk and the front show is absolutely impressive.
The ward was a 6 sleeper and smelt like sleeping in a toilet. The bin still had swabs and dirt obviously from previous patient.
The toilet and bathrooms were worthy of provincial status. Germs and black
Lurking in every corner. The nurses station added insult to injury let alone the horrid smell
Of the food that smelt like cabbage.
As a hospital you are supposed to be a sterile, quiet and ambient place for recovery. But you have none of that. But the doctors quickly
Ask about GAP cover. This I presume
Is the reason doctors study
The profession. Money.
This is totally wrong. Even the attitude of your admitting staff needs to be reassessed. No
Service is free..
I do not want to believe that we are taking a stance from then falling filthy South Africa and taking it to hospitals. Gone are the days when 6 patients slept together. Where does dignity come in. Frightfully I cannot recommend your hospital
as awesome. Cleanliness means maintain. Employ people with purpose. Performing yeomen service.
A hospital should be an extension of hone. The only difference, professional people giving care.
Thanks Dr Khan, nurse Jenny and the rest of the team that took care of me during first weekend of lockdown.
Having a heart attack at the young age of 58 and being treated like a king during these troubled times was a welcome stress reliever.
THANK YOU SO MUCH AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
To Head of Reception, unfortunately I haven’t got the lady’s name who was on night duty at reception 17/4/2020, but I would like it to be known this lady went the extra mile. When I phoned if my husband has been admitted yet, the answer was “no”, but not long after she phoned me back, informing that he was admitted to ICU. That kindness was so comforting when I was in a state not being able to be with or see him. Thank-you very much. That is the kind of people that SHOULD be in the front line. Gratefully yours.
