Beds and Wards

Groenkloof Hospital has 214 beds and 9 theatres.  The hospital also runs a specialised orthopaedics centre that specialises in orthopaedic care and surgery together with physiotherapy to treat sports injuries.  A dedicated team of Oncologists perform stem cell transplants, radiotherapy and chemo at the Mary Potter Oncology Clinic.

Critical ill and injured patients receive quality care at the 11 bed general ICU unit and 8 bed high care unit.  A specialist stroke unit at the hospital offer expert care for stroke patients from the emergency stage right through to full functional rehabilitation.

The radiology unit equipped with advanced CT, RT and PET scanners provide state-of-the-art medical services.  Patients and their family will receive personalised and professional care at the breast care centre.  Specialised medical staff provide support and counselling to patients and their family throughout the diagnoses and treatment of breast cancer.  The support service is free of charge.

  • My sister [NAME REMOVED] was admitted late in the evening at Life Groenkloof Hospital on 13 August 2021, she was very sick, the welcome we received was so quick, the female white Dr together with two nurses (young African ladies) my sister was rushed with drips, and tests, the communication and friendliness of the Trio was so splendid, the Dr Whom i cannot recall her Surname together with the two nurses treated us very good. We left 2 o’clock am so happy that we were all attended to. In the early hours of the morning i received a call from Dr Steenkamp who was in charge my sister. She was operated twice, the treatment was also very good by the wards, Big up all of you, hospitals really needs dedicated people people like you.
