The hospital is situated in Kroonstad, the third-largest town in the Free State province.  Kroonstad is located on the bank of the Vals River and is popular for its many sports activities and fishing spots.  Visitors and locals enjoy many activities such as flea markets, tea garden, walking trails, game viewing and fishing.

The quaint town of Kroonstad is the halfway mark between Johannesburg and Bloemfontein and is a well-liked pit stop for people travelling between Gauteng and the Free State.  The town is also an important railway connection from Cape Town to Johannesburg.

Kroonstad is about two hour’s drive from Johannesburg and Bloemfontein.  The towns of Welkom is 73km South-West and Bethlehem is about 146km East-West of Kroonstad.  The hospital is situated on the R76 (Noordweg) which is the main road that runs through Kroonstad.

The town offers visitors plenty of leisure opportunities from enjoying a game of golf, interacting with tiger and lion cubs at the well-known Lion and Tiger Park, angling in the Vals River to horse riding and hiking.
